When you buy parts for a vehicle, there can be unforeseen defects from the manufacturing of those parts that could cause issues in a day or even a few years after installation. Of course, many parts themselves come with a manufacturers warranty that the purchaser can be reimbursed for, once the defect is verified by manufacturer. However, you're only reimbursed for the cost of that part, not for the labor time spent to find the issue, or the labor incurred to remove and reinstall that part, let alone the time it takes to get the replacement.

While we warranty nearly all services and repairs, there are a few exceptions. For the majority of repairs, we choose not to install previously used parts. We find that the money that might be saved on the front end of buying a used part, often isn't worth the cost of having to fix it again sooner because of a degraded quality. We also can't warranty used parts due to the unknown use that part has incurred. For similar reasons, we choose not to install customer supplied parts. While our customers may experience a cost savings up front, in the event a part fails, we cannot honor the costs associated with identifying the issue and performing the repair because we were not responsible for purchasing it.
